Providing clients with peace of mind has been Rajeev’s focus since he launched his career in 1995. “I feel a huge amount of satisfaction when my clients are thankful for the confidence, comfort and peace of mind they gain from working with me,” Rajeev says. Clients feel confident because Rajeev follows a well-defined process that outlines what clients can expect at the beginning and a flexible path to realize their goals in the future. A people person by nature, Rajeev develops strong relationships with clients and ensures he fully understands how they feel about their finances. “I’ve had clients say that they are so happy I ask them about what really matters to them,” Rajeev reveals.

Rajeev went to work in financial services with a large national firm right after graduating from the University of Western Ontario. Six years later in 2001, he developed his own practice and joined together to form Kudsia Leith Sanchez in 2008. Rajeev earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 2008, garnering national recognition by placing second overall in Canada on the CFP exam. This outstanding accomplishment was highlighted in the Globe and Mail. Highly regarded for his knowledge and experience, Rajeev has been interviewed by CTV News, quoted in the KW Record and featured in Exchange Magazine.

A devoted dad, Rajeev is able to combine his dedication to fatherhood with another passion – baseball – by coaching his sons’ rep baseball teams in Waterloo. An outstanding player in his own right, Rajeev played for the Kitchener Panthers in the Senior Inter-County Baseball League and still plays recreationally. He is also training for a master’s level sprinting competition. Rajeev is a talented musician and is the front man of a local rock band. Rajeev and his wife Suzy have been happily married for nearly 20 years and are the proud parents of Damian and Evan.

About the CFP® Mark

Certified Financial Planner® certification is the industry gold standard in financial planning. CFP professionals are the largest identifiable body of licensed financial planners in Canada with over 17,500 individuals meeting the strict standards to attain this designation.
However, since financial planning is not regulated in most Canadian provinces, anyone can call themselves a “financial planner”; but not everyone who refers to themselves as a planner is indeed qualified. In the absence of government regulation, Canadians seeking competent and ethical financial planning services should look for the CFP mark. CFP certification provides assurance that the planner is committed to internationally-recognized professional standards of competence, ethics and practice as set and enforced in Canada by FPSC.

These requirements include:

  • completion of a thorough education in financial planning;
  • successful completion of rigorous standardized examinations;
  • financial planning-related work experience; and,
  • an ethical commitment to put the client’s interest first.

CFP professionals are also held to ongoing rigorous standards through FPSC’s continuing education requirements and enforcement processes.
International recognition
CFP certification is the only internationally recognized financial planning designation. There are currently organizations in 23 countries awarding CFP certification.
